Analysis on the application of ultrasonic cleaning technology to pre-plating treatment

Using the cavitation effect produced by the ultrasonic wave in the liquid, the oil contamination on the surface of the workpiece can be washed away. With appropriate cleaning agents, the surface of the workpiece can be quickly cleaned.

The electroplating process requires higher surface cleanliness, and the ultrasonic cleaning machine technology is an ideal technology that can meet this requirement. Using ultrasonic cleaning technology, it can replace the solvent to clean the oil; it can replace the electric degreasing oil; it can replace the strong acid etching to remove the rust and scale on the surface of carbon steel and low alloy steel. The application of ultrasonic cleaning technology can simplify many traditional cleaning processes and greatly improve the cleaning quality and production efficiency. Especially for those parts with more complex shapes and higher corner requirements, it is more superior. The use of ultrasonic cleaning technology can also replace the effects of strong acids and alkalis in a large range, greatly reducing environmental pollution, improving the working environment of workers, reducing labor intensity, and contributing to protecting the ecological environment.

Introduction to several common workpiece surface conditions, using ultrasonic cleaning process:

1 Cleaning of polishing paste on the surface of polishing parts.

In general, polishing pastes are often blended with paraffin. Paraffin has a large molecular weight, a high melting point, and is solid at room temperature. It is a difficult substance to clean. The traditional method is to use organic solvents or high temperature alkaline water for washing. With ultrasonic cleaning, a water-based cleaning agent can be used. Under moderate temperature conditions, the surface of the workpiece is thoroughly cleaned in a few minutes. The common process is: ① soaking → ② ultrasonic cleaning → ③ rinse with clean water (purified water).

2 Cold rolled steel sheet with oil and a little rust on the surface.

The surface of cold-rolled steel plate generally has oil, dirt, or a small amount of rust. It is easier to clean, but after cleaning by ordinary methods, a very thin layer of floating ash remains on the surface of the workpiece, which affects the subsequent processing quality and sometimes has to use strong acid. Soak it to remove this layer of floating ash. The use of ultrasonic cleaning and appropriate cleaning liquid can conveniently and quickly achieve thorough cleaning of the surface of the workpiece, and make the surface of the workpiece have higher activity, and sometimes even eliminate the acid leaching activation process before plating.

3 The surface has oxide scale and yellow rust.

The traditional method is to soak with hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid. Such as the use of comprehensive ultrasonic treatment technology, you can quickly and simultaneously remove oil and rust on the surface of the workpiece in a few minutes, and avoid the hydrogen embrittlement problems associated with strong acid cleaning.

In summary, the ultrasonic cleaning technology will have a wide range of applications in the electroplating and other industries.
